V IS for victory and in the case of the Baby boomer Divas, it also represents the power of Voice!
After our recent brush with 'pornographic advertisements', it didn't take long for the mighty spirited women that make up Beverly Mahone's list of Divas to take action!
We quickly got our heads together and started Blogging our disappointment and disapporoval of the way a couple of filthy ads found their way next to our names in a recent Press release!
This blog post was to profile the wonderful efforts and inspiration of women over fourty, all making a huge difference to the country's they represent and that of the world!
The article had been published through Free-press, and the moment it went 'live', it sadly became attached to what i can only describe as 'gutter-trash'.....at first glance we assumed these ads were courtesy of Google's Adwords, but upon closer inspection and investigation from some of our more 'computer-savvy-sisters', it was found to have been connected to a site known as Etology.com- www.etology.com/buying-space-detail.php?id=12086&EID=53955
Like many others I had never heard of the network but am aware that when using keywords/meta-tags on websites/blogs they can be picked up by google via their crawling of sites and then place ads that resemble them in order to make some extra $$$$-
This is quite common as i have always had ads on various sites mentioning cancer organisations etc, because I include alot of Ovarian cancer topis/issues at my pages. I have NO problem with this, but I have a HUGE problem when such boundaries are breached!
See how Etology almost destroyed our good names and our work!

After reading the release, and the comments I ask you this..."How did Etology.com manage to associate such filth from something so decent?"
SHOCKED? AMAZED? Well folks, as part of this sophisticated group of women I would simply like to add my final warning....THIS SORT OF TRASH WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED AND IS JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE OR APPROPRIATE! Those responsible might want to tread more cautiously...never underestimate the power of women on the move!!!!
Congratulations to our Diva Queen, Beverly Mahone for allowing her sisters to unite to make a stand against the demoralising of women everywhere!
Please drop over to her wonderful website:

Google GOOF!
It is no secret I love to write-this is what I do and usually, when i write on one of my many blogs across the internet it's to either share a piece of history, an intersting article or words of inspiration. Not so today my fellow bloggers! Today, I come here to blog about the apparent lack of protection we as Bloggers appear to be dealing with...and from the most unlikliest of sources might I add! Now, it is a well-known fact that most Blogs such as the one I am typing from now, have Google as their host. I have come to admire the many tools Google has to offer the serious and devoted Blogger, especially now as I join ranks with a family of other great bloggers within my Baby Boomer Diva group. We came together, as women on a mission! All of us age 40+, and all with some wonderful backgrounds. The vast talents we bring to the table are too numerous to list but let's just say we are a collected group of women in many roles, either running a business from home or a career in another work-place. We share a common goal and dream. To show others that there's no limit to your goals, and no reason not to get out there and pursue that dream! We are living proof it can be done, and as part of this team-effort, we alos share our ideas with others so that the message is passed along....Using the world wide web helped to unite an amazing group of women, and today, our head Diva went one step further by releasing a Press release for others to read-Yes, on a Blog. We have stepped up the pace and many are now being featured for their efforts and contributions to society-We happily took turns today in adding our own comments to this release, so you can imagine our disappointment and disgust when we noticed a couple of advertisements popped up, with absolute profanities and filth beside our names! Where did they come from?? Well, it seems Google are slipping BIG TIME! These two degrading ads belong to them. How did they wind up on a blog?? We have NO IDEA but as DIVAS, we won't stop until this problem has been sorted and the putrid words removed!
So, Google, if it can happen to us, where else are they popping up? Let;s hope we see an answer to this and a guarantee it doesn't happen again!
